Harper WestHollywood carefully integrates new 21st century residences around a local, historically designated site plan that houses the 1923 Mission revival style, Ramona apartments. The two front buildings and rear building façade of the Ramona property have been restored in the spirit of the Secretary of the Interior’s standards for rehabilitation as an example of the City’s historic past. Key landscaping elements and trees remain, walkways and paths were replicated, and exterior surfaces were restored to reflect their original state. Water features and site amenities help to blend the historic court space with its new companion courtyard to its north. Today, the historic site continues to reflect a larger history of the region and represent an early modest example of work force-based, courtyard housing in West Hollywood.
