AK Live Work

AK Live Work Lofts, built-in 2006 and designed by Michael Sant, is an Award-Winning Minimalist landmark. Modern lofts with maisonettes, a shop, a bakery, and a corner cafe are situated on Venice’s famed Abbot Kinney Blvd. The retail space is deeply carved, in both plan and elevation, by four stair towers that interweave the building’s public and private spaces and link the residences to the street.  Inside the apartments, light is a tangible design element, modulating the experience of the space with a rhythm of light and dark, inside and out.  Select views of Venice from these private spaces serve to intermingle the rhythm of private and public life, allowing residents to engage with, or retreat from, the dynamic energy of the street.

Units boast open living, dining and kitchen areas with polished concrete & ipe floors, teak euro-core cabinetry, Subzero and  Bosch Appliances, unglazed porcelain tile & meticulously crafted windows set by courtyards & xeriscape gardens.
